writing resume ?

Question by sylviaeldon: writing resume ?
I’m applying for a job at Baskin Robin for the first time, how could I start to write a resume ? Do they accept people with no previous experiences ?

Best answer:

Answer by Angela B
First of all working for Baskin Robins you most likely will only need to fill out an application. And is this your first time working ever? If so, you can’t really write up a Resume without work experience, unless you just put in educational experience, but I would say don’t worry about it right now until you get more experience. Good Luck.

Q&A: different between white hat and black hat seo?

Question by ishmeet: different between white hat and black hat seo?
can anyone tell me difference between white hat and bacl hat SEO techniques?

Best answer:

Answer by Nick
White hat SEO is basically making your site as detailed, informative, interesting, and entertaining to your visitors as possible so they will want to share your site with other people and naturally give you links. For example, if you have a blog about industrial music, you’d work hard to write reviews of new releases and get good interviews with industrial bands and musicians. This would give your site value which would inherently get it good attention.

Other white hat techniques include asking for links from related webmasters (so if you have this industrial music blog, talk to other industrial music bloggers and see if they’ll post about your site on their blog), actively participating in related communities and message boards online, and making sure that your site is easy to navigate and read.

Another white hat technique is buying ad space. It isn’t spam and you’re paying for your ad to be on someone else’s site, so it is usually an ethical and accepted practice unless you start making popup ads, invisible ads, and other odd things that are meant to deceive and inconvenience the site’s visitor.

There are a lot of black hat techniques, none of which I’d recommend. They include (but certainly aren’t limited to) the following:

Spamming: Just putting links to your site out there as much as possible by whatever means necessary. Some site owners will hire people to do this for them. This can happen through blog comments where a spammer posts a useless or unrelated comment on your site, but tries to include a link back to their page. They can e-mail people with links to the page they want you to visit. They can register on message boards, put links in their signatures, and create fake threads to get their links noticed by search engines.

Article Submission: This is when you write content and include a link to your website, then submit that article to several (often bogus) sites that will post your content as their own. Your link will be detected by search engines so you might get backlinks that way, though they won’t be high quality. And with Google’s new Panda algorithm, article submission is basically obsolete because Google now penalizes duplicate content pretty heavily.

Article Spinning: This is the same as article submission, only instead of submitting the same article, you rewrite and reword it enough (or have software that will rewrite it enough) for you so that it doesn’t trigger any duplicate content detection algorithms.

Competitor Slander: Some people have been bold enough to make fake pages with negative comments about their competitors and their services, then get links to that page with phrases like “[Competitor's Name] scam” or “[Competitor's Name] fraud”. If this tactic is successful, when someone starts typing the competitor’s name into Google, Google may suggest the term with “scam” or “fraud”, making the people who search think that they might not be trustworthy. However, this could end in a huge lawsuit because it is slander and the company being targeted would likely find out soon enough and trace it back to the black hat SEO.

Basically, black hat tactics are meant to deceive people and search engines for quick personal gain while white hat tactics take time to establish, but are often worth it more in the long run because you’ll have regular visitors and more natural, organic links to your pages.

This is just a basic list, but I hope it helps!

What is the difference between Grey and White Hat SEO?

Question by Asghar Paracha SEO: What is the difference between Grey and White Hat SEO?
What is the difference between Grey and White Hat SEO?

Best answer:

Answer by ExoticPhone.com
White Hat SEO focus on building quality content first and SEO second. White Hat SEO may use technology and automation to build their websites too, but they use it to accomplish different goals. They write content for people, not search engines. White Hat SEO tend to rely more on their content and marketing skills to achieve a top ranking, rather than automated programs.

Gray Hat SEO is all about risk versus reward. Some Gray Hat techniques may be frowned by the search engines, but are not necessarily against their rules, while other techniques may be more risky and should be used only after careful consideration.

Q&A: What Do You Consider As White Hat SEO?

Question by Tree: What Do You Consider As White Hat SEO?
Im wondering, what’s white hat SEO to be exact? Directory submissions, article submissions, and that’s it? Because paid links obviously aren’t white hat and even 3 ways or 4 ways link exchange aren’t part of white hat SEO either (because they meant to cheat). So what are part of white hat SEO? I heard a lot of getting relevant backlinks, but how to get relevant backlinks in white hat way other than paying for the links or do 3-4 ways link exchange?

keyword stuffing, long meta tag like title, description, clone, mirror page, duplicate content etc…

What is the correct way to format your resume if you’d like to include an “online resume” website as well?

Question by All Beef Patty: What is the correct way to format your resume if you’d like to include an “online resume” website as well?
I have created an “online resume” that shows some of the projects I’ve done during my career, as well as peer recommendations and their contact information if references are required.

My resume gives brief detail about my accomplishments, but my online resume goes into more detail.

How do I get someone to look at my online resume when I am submitting my hard copy resume for consideration?

Best answer:

Answer by Amanda
The invention of websites such as “visualcv.com” and “linkedin.com” has increased the number of job seekers with access to this great feature–the online resume. It can absolutely be helpful and should not be overlooked. The best place to put this feature is to include it in the heading with your contact information.

Example:
Name
Address
Phone numbers
Website address.

Other options are to include it at the end of the objective sentence (if you have one) or below the title of the resume.

Q&A: How to escape from resume filter when applying for job?

Question by Kannan J: How to escape from resume filter when applying for job?
I idiotically lost a job interview a couple of months ago. I applied again but they rejected it saying they have their resume on file and that I can’t apply for the job again till one year from the date of the last interview. They have software which automatically compares a resume submitted with the resumes in their database. Has anyone been cunning enough to modify resume in ways that the resume filter software can’t identify as duplicate? I desperately need to apply for that job.

Best answer:

Answer by Dragon Prince
Sorry you can’t without lying on your resume, in which case you will be found out and could be in serious trouble. They usually have 5 matching criteria which is used by the software. Depending on the country the position is in it could be first name, surname, date of birth, qualifications, email address. So as you can see you would have to in effect lie about your identity. So wait the year if you want that job or apply for another job.

Good luck

resume????

Question by just me: resume????
do i have to make my own resume or do they send one to me???HELP???

Best answer:

Answer by Terry G
You need to create your own resume…Keep in mind that years ago it was very common for people to “INFLATE” things on their resumes. Today, most things are checked, so be careful what you say and how much you inflate things. Resumes are only there to get you inside the door, into an office…then it is your chance to sell yourself. Use your words wisely, both on your resume and in person. You are trying to sell yourself…be ready to make that pitch. Don’t sell yourself short, but don’t think you can walk in and allow your resume to do all of the talking for you.
